Accelerating into the blurring boundaries of electronic music through his Me Me Me imprint, Man Power is the production alias of UK born music maker Geoff Kirkwood.
Named XLR8R Artist of 2015, nominated as Beatport Best Artist of 2016 and featured on BBC Radio 1 as a Future Star for a 5 week residency in 2017, Man Power continues to champion his own path. An elusive figure that initially rose to fame as an anonymous project, his early releases on John Talabot's Hivern Discs and Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant saw him diffuse the limits of genres, while his more recent output on ESP Institute, Ene Japan, Permanent Vacation and remix work for the likes of Bryan Ferry further cement his portrayal as an adventurous musical delinquent.
As comfortable producing psychedelic disco as he is stripped back techno and Balearica, Man Power is also held in high regard for own breed of edits, with his 'Thank You' bootleg of 2016 becoming one of the best selling releases on the Phonica white label series.
Man Power's 2015 self-titled debut album drew wide praise, paying heed to everything from early 20th century modernism to obscure poets such as the late ee cummings. While his Me Me Me label, launched in 2016, continued on with this boundless energy, focusing only on the quality of the output rather than any restrictions on style. Contributions to Me Me Me to date have included luminaries such as DJ Tennis, Axel Boman and Red Axes, as well as burgeoning names including James Hadfield and Last Waltz.
Now splitting his time between continents with residencies as far flung asTopaz Deluxe in Monterrey, MN Roy of Mexico City and Ape-X in his native Newcastle, the charismatic Geordie is likely to be found careering anywhere around the world with fabric, Panorama Bar, Glastonbury festival and tours of Japan and the US all staples in his schedule.
2017 promises yet more of the unexpected for Man Power and it's a thrilling ride for those willing to keep up.
