Simon Baker delivers a trick with his next release for 2020Vision, where he will release his debut artist album later this year.

‘The Trick’ marries a playful house sound to the familiar driving feel of Baker’s productions. Shaking with percussion, peppered with piano medleys and awash with lush synth pads, the title track has all the elements of a summer anthem.

On the flip, much-hailed new talent Glimpse delivers an effortless remix. Stripping back ‘The Trick’ to the bones and enhancing the break down with light and energetic echoes. This rework follows Simon’s remix for the Glimpse’s track, ‘If I Was Your Girl,’ just released on Crosstown Rebels and pre-empts the Glimpse debut album on the label out in May 2010.  The digital release will also feature a beats remix, a heavier and full-bodied take on the original.

Simon Baker has been flying high for many years on a string of successful releases on Playhouse, Get Physical, Cocoon and his home label, 2020Vision. More recently he has remixed for Luke Solomon’s Classic label and for the Crazy P ‘Stop Space Return’ single on 2020, with more solo releases on 8Bit and murmur. Constantly an in demand DJ around the world, Simon has just returned from high profile gigs at Miami WMC and a tour of Australia. His debut album will be released later in the year on 2020 and will feature some high profile collaborations.

Glimpse is one of the rising stars of the underground techno scene, with releases on Planet E, Cadenza, Kindisch and Buzzin Fly in the last year alone. His debut album comes out in late May on Crosstown Rebels.
