Applebottom and Timo Maas & James Teej step up to reinterpret Kidnap Kid’s anthemic Brokenhearted, chasing the wings of the critic’s acclaim.
Since it’s release last month, Brokenhearted has been a favourite at radio with support from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Monki and Phil Taggart, as well as media outlets such as Earmilk - “sure to steal your heart”, sealing the admiration of Kidnap Kid’s second solo release on his own Birds That Fly label.
Bristolian Applebottom delivered his own EP earlier this summer for Birds That Fly. Here he keeps a hold of the strength and emotion in Brokenhearted and delivers epic results. Hot on the heels of their huge hit with Paul McCartney & Wings this summer, Timo Maas and James Teej bring their deep and dark sound to Brokenhearted with added rhythm for the dancefloor.
The start of 2016 saw Kidnap Kid launch his Birds That Fly imprint as a platform for his own music as well as a means to support like minded producers. The label’s debut release was from Kidnap Kid himself - Moments - which collectively reached 10 million streams, 1.3 million of those coming from Spotify and subsequently made the Spotify chart in over 10 countries. It was championed by several Radio 1 DJs and was the closing record for many, including Maceo Plex who closed his set at CRSSD festival with the track.
