air london presents the debut solo release from Adam Shelton. Already releasing music with Subb-An (either as Subb-An & Shelton or under their SAS guise), Air Trax marks the first full release for Adam in his own right, and it’s one hell of an introduction.
Both tracks here have been made for the late night hours as Adam Shelton really gets into his gritty groove with this speaker-busting double hitter. ‘Crazy Talk’ starts off with a hypnotic rolling drumbeat and a fixating, echoing vocal that builds until the driving bassline kicks in and leaves you hooked.
On the flip ‘Do Not Attempt’ is another killer cut with clipped broken beats and crisp hi-hats. A shady vocal, uttered throughout, is swathed in siren cries and more brooding bassline. This is house music to mess you up a bit and a winning swagger carries off Shelton’s style.
A pillar of the underground scene in Birmingham, Adam Shelton’s project ‘Below’ continues to be one of the most cutting edge parties in the UK. As the esteemed resident, his skills, versatility and range have seen him guest at some of the world’s best clubs including Panorama Bar, Cocoon, Back to Basics, The Garden Festival in Croatia and Space in Ibiza. An avid vinyl collector himself, Adam set up One Records alongside friend and co-producer Subb-an in November 2009 and they have since been using it as a platform for their own productions (including hit EPs ‘The Muzik’ and ‘It’s Time’) and a wealth of respected artists including Kris Wadsworth, Hector, Geddes, Shaun Reeves, Jozif, Jordan Peak and Death On The Balcony. Shelton is a natural choice for air london and this release further cements him as a purveyor of authentic club music.
