The second single from one of the albums of 2011 from Crosstown Rebels is the delicious ‘Your Style’ from Maceo Plex, featuring hot new talent Maya Jane Coles on remix duty plus a revisit from the man himself.

‘Life Index’ has been hailed as one of the greatest dance albums of recent times from old heads and newcomers to the circuit. Through the album Maetrik has been reborn as Maceo Plex and spotlighted by the likes of Mixmag and Clash magazine.

Described as a ”sexy grooving weapon” by Mixmag, ‘Your Style’ seeps with the inert funk that garnered the album such praise. Its whispered cries behold a deep passion and pure beauty not yet found in house music. Rich and suggestive in its undertones, this is a true future dancefloor anthem.

Maya Jane Coles is dance music’s new heroine. She has swiftly risen to the top of the house music tree, picked up on by DJ Mag and Dazed & Confused recently, and is a true a female force to be reckoned with. Her remix of ‘Your Style’ writhes with pleasure and is translucent in its desire to gratify. The robotic vocals still centre the track but the beats become more buoyant and are layered with light cascading beeps and bleeps. Feminine in its dreaminess yet masculine in its power, this track will be on repeat for months to come.

Maceo Plex gives the track a revisit for the final track on the package. Stripping back the original he gives it a futuristic re-rub. Possessing a strong forward momentum through its the ringing bassline, the hypnotising claps and cymbals mean you also never want it to end. Extending the spoken vocal with potent laughter and powerful words, this rework highlights the best from the original and could equally be played alongside.
