GHL
Slow Good

There’s a new techno maverick in town going by the name GHL. Those who have already had the pleasure of witnessing his raw DJ sets will know that he can put sweat on the walls and he’s just about to set the scene buzzing with this debut release on boutique label electric minds.

GHL’s life long passion for electronic music, his sense of groove and musical ability are what makes his solo output equally potent. His love of old school analogue equipment and raw chugging drums always gives his productions an authentic basement vibe that is unique and highly effective.

‘Slow Good’ is a true testament to this. Somewhere in between the realms of house and techno, this deep burning groove has got momentum and fire in its belly, the dubby bass bathed in warm pads and a sultry atmosphere. Individual drum patterns and rich instrumentals take this away from your average techno cut. Tough yet sexy, it’s a track you’ll want to hear again and again.

B Side ‘Show Me Love’ provides an equally dubby house work-out with a touch of the future garage vibe. The intricate live style production techniques at work are clear in the depth of sound created. With more bounce and less growl than the A side, this is still a gem for lovers of the underground sound.

The identity of GHL remains somewhat mysterious but we do know he’s been honing his skills and experience for years choosing this moment to unleash the passionately crafted sound of ‘Slow Good’ after an illustrious career in another dimension. It’s the music that does the talking here and having already road tested these tracks at the electric minds parties and Panorama Bar in Berlin, there is no doubt the 12” will cause a stir in the house and techno fraternity.
