Futureboogie unearth more dancefloor magic with next signing The White Lamp and their first single ‘It’s You’ - a perfect rendering of electronic soul for 2012. World-class talent Ron Basejam of Crazy P fame and the unstoppable Eats Everything with Futureboogie staple Christophe provide the remixes.
With identity shrouded in mystery, a producer & DJ from London and a musician & vocalist from Bristol have fused their creative powers to form The White Lamp, presenting debut material on Bristol institution Futureboogie Recordings. Clearly a master of soulful grooves, the production force behind ‘It’s You’ has delivered the audio equivalent of Springtime - modern day soul for a dancefloor in the clouds. The easy bounce of the bassline, infectious rhythms bathed in sonic sunshine and a vocal that glows with a mixture of soothing Jamie Woon-esque pop and hints of soulful garage tones, ‘It’s You’ is the perfect record to warm up the season.
Ron Basejam aka James Baron from Crazy P brings his undeniable flair to his deep and dubby ‘It’s You’ rework - full of down-tempo warmth and the buzz of a live jam. Building into a sultry laid-back groove with lush chords and expertly cut vocals, it’s a sublime take on the original track. Boogie pusher Ron Basejam began releasing material apart from Crazy P in 2005 on labels Repap, Redux, Eskimo Recordings and his first full-length, ‘Deep & Meaningless’, came out on ISM Records.
After both making first-rate contributions to the freshly dropped ‘10’ compilation, Futureboogie homeboy Christophe and exalted Bristol export Eats Everything join forces to wreak havoc on the dancefloor with their ‘Acid Ouse mix’ bringing the Bass and the acid wiggles. Already given the rave stamp of approval at the recent Futureboogie 10th Birthday bash, it’s no wonder both artists are tearing through the scene. Eats Everything blew up after his flawless debut release on Dirtybird, scooping the award for DJ Mag’s Best Of British Best Breakthrough Producer in 2011 and Christophe, production partner to Lukas, is killing it with the Futureboogie crew.
A project for the soul & for the dance floor, expect more high calibre releases from The White Lamp throughout 2012.
