Rising star Hamid brings us the next installment from murmur with ‘If I’ featuring the dreamy, seductive voice of London based up-and-comer Valentina. Masters in sound Jay Shepheard and Inxec & Andrei Osyka deliver seamless remixes that seal this package off as pure gold.

Hamid’s ‘If I’ supplies the A-side with a dreamy air of liquid fluidity through the emotional edge evoked by haunting keys and soothing vocals from the beautiful voice of Valentina. Textured and reverbing warm pads add to this delivery of advanced and modern sound while the pacey hi hats keep this aimed at the dance floor.

Over on the B-side Retrofit label boss Jay Shepheard offers the first remix, which is packed full of groove along an uplifting melodic ride of electronic layered strings and a powerful bass line. Inxec and Droog recently proved to be a perfect pairing with the ‘Westbound EP’ on Crosstown Rebels. This time Andrei Osyka is flying the Droog flag solo for murmur as he teams up with Inxec for the second remix. In their hands ‘If I’ evolves into a force of electronic space funk with soaring synths and epic melodies upping the drama whilst retaining the track’s emotive core.

Hamid is a fine addition to the murmur stable. French born, but developing his musical career in London and Ibiza the young producer is steadily securing himself a place within the dance music elite. This summer he enjoyed a weekly residency at new Playa d’en Bossa hotspot ‘La Plage d’Elephant’ (last year’s infamous Ushuaia) alongside the likes of Jay Haze, Nina Kraviz and DJ Sneak. Valentina is another artist on the up and up. Initially coming from jazz background, the vocalist was more and more drawn to electronic sounds and a collaborative LP with DoubtingThomas under their ´D.O.T.S´ guise is forthcoming on Cesare Vs Disorder´s Mean label later this year.
