Rip Records was formed in 1998 and re launched in 2010 digitally as ripdigitial. Now the label is about to unleash an EP from one of the true pioneers of the house sound in Buenos Aries, Argentina. Ricky Ryan’s ‘Triple Aries EP’ is a heady mix of warm progressive house and deep throbbing techno from a voice of the truly global dance community.

With this trio of tracks comes a distinctive blend of rapture and rave that kicks off with ‘Lemon Aid’ - a frenetic tightly layered piece that forms the darker side of the EP - teeming with weird effects and wonky synths that build into a euphoric climax. What begins as a moody rumbler soon becomes a robust floorfiller.

‘Gorilla Glass’ has a lighter bounce but builds up with eerie atmospherics as the pace quickens. Ultimately warm synths filter through bringing a touch of ambient romance that lend a contrast to Ricky’s regular injection of wonkiness. ‘Mess Monster’ goes into a deeper electronica vibe with the allure of the shimmering pads soon taken over by the pulsating drive of the bassline and a shower of rowdy synths.

When you are being mentored by global superstars Sasha and Digweed, the world is bound to take notice sooner or later and Rip Digital are thrilled to have pickedup the first 2 E.Ps from this rising South American star. Ricky Ryan’s livewire personality and wide range of musical styles make him difficult to pigeonhole but this characterful solo package is guaranteed to please the die hard fans of the global house sound.
